Total Commonwealth funding for schools is growing and continues to grow

In addition to Commonwealth funding, your school also receives funding from your state and territory governments and other sources such as school fees and voluntary contributions.
Government schools receive the majority of their funding from their state or territory government, whereas non-government schools (Catholic and Independent) receive the majority of their public funding from the Australian Government.
This reflects the constitutional responsibilities of the Commonwealth and state and territory governments for school education in Australia.
